"The first peace, which is the most important, is that which
comes within the souls of the people when they realize their relationship,
their oneness with the Universe and all its powers,
and when they realize that at the center of the universe
dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere,
it is within each of us."

Awareness
Greetings! Or as my Dear One would say in Blackfoot -Oki! It has been a few months since I have written, and the Good Captain reminded me to post so here it is.
Well its been an interesting year to say the least. Separation, breakdown, rebirth, love, and awareness. It is the beginning of the awareness stage in which I am at on my walk. It is an amazing feeling. Not only to experience the surroundings of nature, but the self surroundings as well. To be aware that emotional pain and suffering is only the ego fighting and manifesting itself to secure what it wants. The insecurities of the self that loves to come out and acknowledging why this is. The quest for enlightenment may not be easy, and may never come to me. But I know to just keep putting one foot in front of the other and being aware on my walk through this life is what I must do.
Just picked up a book "Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman. If you have not read "The Way fo the Peaceful Warrior", I Highly suggest it and the rest of the series. The Wisdom is a companion book to The Way. I will be sharing my thoughts on this book on future posts.
Be Well and Safe to you all!

Teachings by Long Standing Bear Chief, Blackfoot
Believe in the beauty and strength our your own being. Forget the foolish belief that you and your fellow human beings were born evil. Those who would control you all the days of your life on earth perpetuate the belief iihtsipaitapiiyo?pa (Source of Life) made things to have a bad spirit.
Live a life of truth and honesty. This makes you a person of quality and dignity. Truth and honesty are the kind of leadership qualities that attracts others.
Give honor and respect to others regardless of age and situation in life. This quality makes you and others worthy of honor and respect, which makes others, feel worthwhile and fulfilled. Honor and respect empowers others so they can win the day. They will return it to you fourfold.
Honor the earth and all that exists. Be strong in this belief and practice it throughout your life because it makes for a world of kindness that binds all the good things of life together in a circle of harmony.
Be humble but not timid. To be humble is to connect yourself to the stars and the entire universe and makes you aware there is something unique about life that is to be enjoyed without fear. We are people from the stars and because of it we are sacred.
Help others realize that life is a dream . . . . A beautiful dream. Dreamers are the butterflies of life and help others to realize their dreams.
Be humorous and help others to enjoy life and the life of others. Humor makes you attractive. The humorous person has many guests and the one who is invited everywhere because of the joy they bring to the gathering.
Never be afraid to talk matters over with those you disagree with or those you love. The gift of language is a miracle and it is meant to be used to live a life of harmony, joy, love, and respect. Use it well and use it often.
What is described here is leadership and happiness in the broadest sense. These are the qualities that make for a great father, grandmother, mother, teacher, grandfather, lover, traditional leader, friend and a great human being. Best of all you can add to this list.
I give these to you in honor and respect: Long Standing Bear Chief, Blackfoot

What have we learned today about Honor and Respect
I want to first take a quote from 'A Few Good Men' ..."you don't have to wear a Uniform to have Honor".
On that note here is one way to EARN Respect and have Honor in my mind.
You put yourself out there and take one for the team without caring of the consequences that may happen to you. You go to bat for something that you don't have to do and really doesn't effect you, But you do it to protect those who can't, and to do it, not for glory or recognition, but for what is Right.
That my friends earns respect from others and is Honorable.

Learning from past Mistakes
You would think that I would have learned by now from many past experiences of doing the same damn thing over and over. It always comes to the same conclusion. And its nobodies fault but my own. Its just like fishing. Hoping for the big one, the best fish, but usually you get nothing or something that you have to throw back. Or you think you got the big one only to realize that its just weeds. And when you finally get the best one on your line and fight and fight to keep it....Snap! There goes the line and the dream of getting the big one. Yet I keep going back for more, again and again.

Tonights Remark
Given the fact that us two legged are so out of touch with reality, and so disconnected from Mother Earth, Which do you think we are riding.....a Bullet train going 120mph into a side of a Mountain or an F-18 going mach 2 into a fireball?
Anyway trying to figure out what Brother Wolf would do in a situation of losing his pack and left to wander Mother Earth by himself. What would he feel? What would his first response be other than just survive?

Just something to think about
Oki All!
Something to think about if you have the time to watch it. Make up your own mind about it.
