Having constant prayer and Creator directed visions helps us to live in harmony. This is the best way to grow strong and become a Warrior. No matter what is going on outside of ourselves, it is our projection that makes it so. It is our projections that even give it any meaning. Another way is each day to turn our life and our will over to the care of the Great Spirit. Then He will show us His desire for us. Or as my Dear One would say in Blackfoot -Oki! It has been a few months since I have written, and the Good Captain reminded me to post so here it is.

Well its been an interesting year to say the least. Separation, breakdown, rebirth, love, and awareness. It is the beginning of the awareness stage in which I am at on my walk. It is an amazing feeling. Not only to experience the surroundings of nature, but the self surroundings as well. To be aware that emotional pain and suffering is only the ego fighting and manifesting itself to secure what it wants. The insecurities of the self that loves to come out and acknowledging why this is. The quest for enlightenment may not be easy, and may never come to me. But I know to just keep putting one foot in front of the other and being aware on my walk through this life is what I must do.

Just picked up a book "Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman. If you have not read "The Way fo the Peaceful Warrior", I Highly suggest it and the rest of the series. The Wisdom is a companion book to The Way. I will be sharing my thoughts on this book on future posts.

Be Well and Safe to you all!

Teachings by Long Standing Bear Chief, Blackfoot

Believe in the beauty and strength our your own being. Forget the foolish belief that you and your fellow human beings were born evil. Those who would control you all the days of your life on earth perpetuate the belief iihtsipaitapiiyo?pa (Source of Life) made things to have a bad spirit.

Live a life of truth and honesty. This makes you a person of quality and dignity. Truth and honesty are the kind of leadership qualities that attracts others.

Give honor and respect to others regardless of age and situation in life. This quality makes you and others worthy of honor and respect, which makes others, feel worthwhile and fulfilled. Honor and respect empowers others so they can win the day. They will return it to you fourfold.

Honor the earth and all that exists. Be strong in this belief and practice it throughout your life because it makes for a world of kindness that binds all the good things of life together in a circle of harmony.

Be humble but not timid. To be humble is to connect yourself to the stars and the entire universe and makes you aware there is something unique about life that is to be enjoyed without fear. We are people from the stars and because of it we are sacred.

Help others realize that life is a dream . . . . A beautiful dream. Dreamers are the butterflies of life and help others to realize their dreams.

Be humorous and help others to enjoy life and the life of others. Humor makes you attractive. The humorous person has many guests and the one who is invited everywhere because of the joy they bring to the gathering.

Never be afraid to talk matters over with those you disagree with or those you love. The gift of language is a miracle and it is meant to be used to live a life of harmony, joy, love, and respect. Use it well and use it often.

What is described here is leadership and happiness in the broadest sense. A Council Fire forms a circle, not a line or a square. When we move to the side, we still sit at the Fire with our Brothers and Sisters, but as we move away from one we move toward another. The circle, like the Dream Hoop, brings us ever back to where we start. Any time words of respect and love are spoken, they will return as given. A harsh word runs forever in the circle, eventually vanishing from the wear against itself. Love settles within the Circle, embracing it and thereby lasting forever, turning within itself. The Medicine Wheel is the circle of life, starting with birth and continuing through out our life's until death, when we have gone full circle. The Medicine wheel has four Direction, each direction offering it's own lessons, color, and animal guide. There are two paths shown which cross in the center, at which point for me is the heart. (for when you work from your heart, you can reach all directions.) The path from East to West is the path of spirits, (the Blue Road) the path from South to North is our physical Walk (the Red Road ).

East - beginnings, purity, family, innocence, amazement of Life
South - youth - passions of life, friendships, self-control
West - Adulthood - solitude, stillness, going inside oneself, reflection
North type='text'>Remark of the day

Greetings to you all! Ok to the 2 or 3 people that actually read this blog. Just wanted to write some of the random thoughts as of late. Its amazing how the Great Spirit works. Everything happens for a reason. Each path taken, a series of lessons to learn. Each person that crosses your path, even for a moment, having an effect on your life. Each friend that you have made, even if you are no longer in contact with, helping shape who you are. But it is those friends that have made a difference in your life, that have touched your heart and soul in some way that I hold dear and will never forget for as long as I live. Thank you to my dearest friends for helping me on my path and for being there when I needed you most. And in reference to my previous post, that is love.

Love and Attachment

Something I've had for awhile and never posted....

LOVE AND ATTACHMENT

"...there is a difference between loving-kindness in the sense of wishing
beings to be happy, and being personally attached to someone. When we are
attached to someone, they can seem very close, and the kind of involvement
that is based on attachment is what we use the word "love" to mean. This
type of love is very different in nature from the type of love that is based
on altruistic concern. In the type of love that is based upon attachment,
you may have thoughts like, "Oh, I would die for you," and so on. This
seems very altruistic, but is all fundamentally based upon attachment to
that person as a part of your world.

The love that is based on attachment is not really love at all, because it
is fundamentally self-serving. The sign of this is that as long as that
person or those persons serve the function that you want them to have in
your world, as long as they do for you what you want, then you seem to love
them so much. Then as soon as they stop being what you want them to be, the
love vanishes. This means it was not love at all, it was attachment. What
we mean by actual love here is a concern for the welfare of other beings
that is completely devoid of any kind of "payback" personally, and that has
nothing whatsoever to do with hoping that that person will act a certain way
toward you and fearing that they will not."

-- "Living in Compassion" by Ven. Bardor Tulku Rinpoche

Note: - Take it from me - this kind of love is incredibly damaging and fraught with danger and despair and failure. One cannot survive this type of non-love love. You are leaving yourself open to failure and disappointment and heartache if you are in this type of relationship. There is no healthy way out of this attachment so when you find yourself at the threshold of loss, it is best that you do not fight it but let it happen and learn from it.
I have lived my whole life fighting the principals of attachment calling it love when really what it was a desperate connection to non-life. All of the many women in my life except one were facilitators of this attachment and the causation of such incredible pain that I would have rather suffered the incredible torture meted out by Hitler and his henchmen in the years of War that were a direct result of attachment.
You cannot live in this type of attachment calling it love. It is not Love it is a slow death that never leaves you alone and will eventually destroy you unless you learn and bring yourself out of that life to one full of a few friends who know the difference between attachment and love.
I am now where I sought to be for more than fifty years and I can tell all that this is an incredible fate that not everyone is allowed to encounter. I know I run long here but this is not something to take lightly and if you want Truth in your life come visit me and I will help you to see it before it is too late. ( If indeed you are ready to see it and make the change happen that will be required for full freedom from the suffering that makes up this samsara.) -Aho- Two Feathers<div Neither I nor anything I attempt to do, will work without the Creator. Being Indian and being spiritual has the same meaning. Spirituality is out gift from the Great One. This day, I vow to walk the Red Road. As an Indian man, I will return to the traditional and spiritual values which have guided my ancestors for the past generations. I will look with new eyes on the powers of our ceremonies and religious ways, for they are important to the very survival of our people. We have survived and are going to grow and flourish spiritually. We will fulfill our teachings and the purpose that the Creator has given us with dignity. Each day, I will pray and ask for guidance. I will commit to walk the Red Road, or whatever the spiritual way is called in my own culture. If I am Christian, I will be a good one. If I am traditional, I will walk this road with dedication. If each if us can do these things then others will follow. From this day forward, I will reserve time and energy for spirituality, seeking to know the Creators will.

Seven philosophies of the native american man - 5th

Fifth Philosophy - THE EARTH
Our Mother Earth is the source of all life, whether it be plants, the two-legged, four-legged, winged ones or human beings. The Mother Earth is the greatest teacher, if we listen, observe and respect her. When we live in harmony with the Mother Earth, she will recycle the things we consume and make them available to our children. As an Indian man, I must teach my children how to care for the Earth so it is there for the future generations. So from now on, I realize the Earth is our Mother. I will treat her with honor and respect. I will honor the interconnectedness of all things and all forms of life. I will realize the Earth does not belong to us, but that we belong to the Earth. The natural law is the ultimate authority upon the lands and water. I will learn the knowledge and wisdom of the natural laws. I will pass this knowledge on to my children. The Mother Earth is a living entity that maintains life. I will speak out in a good way whenever I see someone abusing the Earth. Just as I would protect my own mother, so I will protect the Earth. I will ensure that the land, water, and air will be intact for my children and for my children's children-the unborn.

Seven Philosophies for the Native American Man - 4th

Fourth Philosophy TO THE COMMUNITY:

The Indian community provides many things for the family. The most important is the sense of belonging; that is, to belong to "the people", and to have a place to go. Our Indian communities need to be restored to health so the future generation will be guaranteed a place to go for culture, language and Indian socializing. In the community, the honor of one is the honor of all and the pain of one is the pain of all. I will work to strengthen recovery in all parts of my community. As an Indian man: I will give back to my community by donating my time and talents when I am able. I will cultivate friendships with other Indian men for mutual support and strength. I will consider the effects of our decisions on behalf of the next seven generations; in this way, our children and grandchildren will inherit healthy communities. I will care about those in my community so that the mind changers, alcohol and drugs, will vanish, and our communities will forever be free of violence. If each of us can do all these things, then others will follow; ours will be a proud community.

Seven Philosophies for the Native American Man - 3rd

Third Philosophy TO THE FAMILY
The creator gave to us the family, which is the place where all teachings are handed down from the grandparent, to the parent, and to the child. The children's behavior is a mirror of the parents behavior. Knowing this, I realize the importance for each Indian man to build a strong and balanced family. By doing this, I will break the cycle of hurt and ensure the positive and mental health of the children, even the children yet to be born. So from now on:
I will dedicate my priorities to rebuilding my family.
I must never give up and leave my family only to the mother.
I am accountable to restore the strength of my family. To do this, I will nurture our family's spiritual, cultural, and social health. I will demonstrate trust, respect, honor and discipline; but mostly I will be consistent in whatever I do with them.
I will see that the grandparents and community Elders play a significant role in the education of my children.
I realize that the male and female together are fundamental to our family life. I will listen to my mates council for our family's benefit, as well as for the benefit of my Indian Nation.

Seven Philosophies for the Native American Man - 2nd

Second Philosophy - TO THE CHILDREN
As an eagle prepares its young to leave the nest with all the skills and knowledge it needs to participate in life, in the same manner so I will guide my children. I will use the culture to prepare them for life. The most important thing I can give to my children is my time.I will spend time with them in order to learn them and to listen to them.I will teach my children to pray, as well as the importance of respect. We are the caretakers of the children for the Creator. They are his children, not ours.I am proud of our Native language. I will learn it if I can and help my children to learn it.In today's world it is easy for the children to go astray, so I will work to provide positive alternatives for them.I will teach them the culture. I will encourage education. I will encourage sports. I will encourage them to talk with the Elders for guidance; but mostly, I will seek to be a role model myself. I make this commitment to my children so they will have courage and find guidance through traditional ways.

Seven Philosophies for the Native American Man - 1st

Sorry I've been gone from this for awhile. First I would suggest to anyone to read the book, Roots of the Iroquois by Tehanetorens. A great insight of the founding Fathers of modern day Democracy...The Iroquois Confederacy. Unfortunately due to greed, corruption, and personal agendas, today's "Democratic Government" is a mockery of what was taught and given to the European Settlers.
Anyway for the next few posts I will be putting up the Seven Philosphies for the Native American Man. Enjoy.

First Philosophy
TO THE WOMEN
The cycle of life for the woman is the baby, girl, woman, and grandmother. These are the four directions of life. She has been given by natural laws, the ability to reproduce life. The most sacred of all things is life. Therefore, all men should treat her with dignity and respect. Never was it our way to harm her mentally or physically. Indian men were never abusers. We always treated our women with respect and understanding. So from now on: I will treat women in a sacred manner. The Creator gave women the responsibility for bringing new life into the world. Life is sacred, so I will look upon the women in a sacred manner. In our traditional ways, the woman is the foundation of the family. I will work with her to create a home atmosphere of respect, security and harmony. I will refrain from any form of emotional or physical abuse. If I have these feelings, I will talk to the Creator for guidance. I will treat all women as if they were my own female relatives. This is my vow.

Back From Vacation

Well I have set a goal for myself for next years Family Vacation...if it happens. Eliminate the stress on vacation. Unfortunately there was too much on this years. But it did have its good moments. One being the trip my wife and I took to Onchiota NY to the Six Nations Museum which will be a topic for another post. The other being Horseback riding in Eagle Bay. First time I ever got on a horse and it was a wonderful hour ride through the woods. Definitely doing it again. Anyway Time to work on a real post that some people would rather read other than myself rambling on about my vacation.

Giving the Mind a rest and the Spirit a workout.

I am so looking forward to a weeks vacation from the everyday drama and routine of work. Always good to rest the mind and enlighten the spirit! Going to Old Forge on a family trip to relax and also taking a special trip with my wife to the Six Nations Museum to take another step back into my heritage and Spirituality. Cannot wait! In this day and age more vacations should be given, not for laziness reasons but just to let the mind get a break. There is way to much drama and BS in this world today that more breaks are needed just to keep sane. Sometimes we talk about our clothing; sometimes we talk about our
body. But neither body nor clothing is actually we ourselves. We ourselves
are the big activity. We are just expressing the smallest part of the big
activity, that is all. So it is all right to talk about ourselves, but
actually there is no need to do so. Before we open our mouths, we are
already expressing the big existence, including ourselves. So the purpose
of talking about ourselves is to correct the misunderstanding we have when
we are attached to any particular temporal form or color of the big
activity. It is necessary to talk about what our body is and what our
activity is so that we may not make any mistake about them. Check out the link! http://www.viewzone.com/endtime.html
The best is that the Mayans actually predicted that we would go directly through he plane of the milky way on that exact date.

A Political View

Please check out the link!

http://natalk.blogspot.com/2008/06/take-back-system.html

The Prophecy of the Seven Fires

:according to The Mishomis Book by Edward Benton Banai

Because of the length of this prophecy and the passing of the first four, I am starting it with the fifth in which is relevant at this time.

The Fifth Prophet said that in the time of the Fifth Fire there will be a struggle between the way of the mind of the light-skinned people and the natural path of spirit of the many nations of natural people. "As this fire loses its heat there will come among the people those who promise great joy and salvation. If the people accept this promise and abandon the old ways, the struggle will continue for many generations. This promise is false and it will nearly destroy those who accept it."
The Sixth Prophet told them that in the time of Sixth Fire it would be clear that the promise accepted during the Fifth Fire was false. "Those who were deceived by this promise will take their children away from the teachings of the elders. The elders will lose their purpose in life and many will become sick and die. Many people will be out of balance and the cup of life will become the cup of grief."
The Seventh Prophet was younger than the others who had come and there was a glowing light from his eyes. He said that there would come a time when the waters had been so poisoned that the animals and plants that lived there would fall sick and begin to die. Much of the forests and prairies would be gone so the air would begin to lose the power of life.* The way of the mind brought to the red, black, and yellow nation by the white nation would bring danger to the whole earth. In this time there will arise Osh-ki-bi-ma-di-zeeg, a new people who will emerge from the clouds of illusion. They will retrace their steps to find the treasures that had been left by the trail. The stories that had been lost will be returned to them. They will remember the Original Instructions and find strength in the way of the circle. Their search will take them to the elders and the new people will ask for guidance. But many of the elders will have walked the Path of the Souls to the Star Web. Many elders will have forgotten their wisdom and they will not be able to help. Some of the elders will point in the wrong direction and others will remain silent because of their fear. Some of the elders will be silent because no one has asked them for their wisdom.
If the New People will find trust in the way of all things, in the circle, they will no longer need the selfish voice of the ego and they can begin to trust their inner voice. Wisdom will be once again be found in dreams of the night and of the day. The sacred fire will once again be lit. The Light-skinned People will be given a choice between two paths. If they choose the right path the Seventh Fire will light the Eighth Fire and final fire of brotherhood and sisterhood. If they choose the wrong path, remaining on the path of the mind, then the destruction they brought with them will come back to destroy them. The people of the earth will experience much suffering and death.

Self Importance

Most of the so-called bad things that happen in people's lives are due to unconsciousness.....they are self created, or rather ego-created...."drama". When you are fully conscious, drama does not come into your life anymore....the basic ego patterns are designed to combat it's own deep seated fear and sense of lack. They are resistance, control, power, greed, defence, and attack. Some of the ego's strategies are extremely clever, yet they never truly solve any of it's problems, simply because the ego is the problem itself. by Eckhart

MY MIND - SONG

MY MIND

Look into my mind
What will you see?
At first only pitch back
Searching further you may find the real me

Wading in the darkness
A slight glimpse of light
You walk through the darkness
To see what you will find – (in me)

Further and further you go
As visions pass you by
Memories long gone
To the back of my mind

Through space and time in my head
Leading to the light that you see
All of the experiences and memories
That came together to create me

Now you stand
In the light of my mind
In amazement of what you see
You are staring at you
You stare at you
Inside of me.

‘RedWolf’

02/29/08

"Warriors of the Rainbow" and No not the Gay and Lesbian Movement!

An exerpt taken from a Prophecy from the Cree Tribe. A woman called "Eyes of Fire"

-The leaders of the people would be chosen in the old way - not by their political party, or who could speak the loudest, boast the most, or by name calling or mud slinging, but by those whose actions spoke the loudest. Those who demonstrated their love, wisdom, and courage and those who showed that they could and did work for the good of all, would be chosen as the leaders or Chiefs. They would be chosen by their "quality" and not the amount of money they had obtained. Like the thoughtful and devoted "Ancient Chiefs", they would understand the people with love, and see that their young were educated with the love and wisdom of their surroundings. They would show them that miracles can be accomplished to heal this world of its ills, and restore it to health and beauty.
The tasks of these "Warriors of the Rainbow" are many and great. There will be terrifying mountains of ignorance to conquer and they shall find prejudice and hatred. They must be dedicated, unwavering in their strength, and strong of heart. They will find willing hearts and minds that will follow them on this road of returning "Mother Earth" to beauty and plenty - once more.
The day will come, it is not far away. The day that we shall see how we owe our very existence to the people of all tribes that have maintained their culture and heritage. Those that have kept the rituals, stories, legends, and myths alive. It will be with this knowledge, the knowledge that they have preserved, that we shall once again return to "harmony" with Nature, Mother Earth, and mankind. It will be with this knowledge that we shall find our "Key to our Survival".

Thunder & Lightning...misled after all these years!

After all these years of thinking that for every second after the flash was 1 mile until the thunder was heard. Well here is the info and more on Thunder and Lightning.

The flash of a lightning strike and resulting thunder occur at roughly the same time. But light travels at 186,000 miles in a second, almost a million times the speed of sound. Sound travels at the slower speed of one-fifth of a mile in the same time. So the flash of lightning is seen before thunder is heard. By counting the seconds between the flash and the thunder and dividing by 5, you can estimate your distance from the strike (in miles). But why does lightning cause thunder at the same time it strikes?

Lightning causes thunder because a strike of lightning is incredibly hot. A typical bolt of lightning can immediately heat the air to between 15,000 to 60,000 degrees Fahrenheit. That's hotter than the surface of the sun!
A lightning strike can heat the air in a fraction of a second. When air is heated that quickly, it expands violently and then contracts, like an explosion that happens in the blink of an eye. It's that explosion of air that creates sound waves, which we hear and call thunder.
When lightning strikes very close by, we hear the thunder as a loud and short bang. We hear thunder from far away as a long, low rumble.
Lightning always produces thunder. When you see lightning but don't hear any thunder, the lightning is too far away from you for the sound waves to reach you.
Light and sound will always move at different speeds. And lightning will always produce thunder because of a strike's high temperature. So no matter what, you will always see a flash of lightning before you hear thunder.

Can You Imagine...

Ponder this if you will. I do not claim to be the most Historically oriented person, but for being this High and Mighty Society, we have men praying on young Girls and then raping and killingthem, Couples kidnapping young children, then locking them in closets, innocent lifes being taken because of a psychotic belief. This planet is completely going into the shitter with the flush handle half way down because of these Psychotic vermin. When it comes to people like this, I'm a big fan of the Texas style Executions. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strengthto be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).
Respect. Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or somethin with deference or courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.a. Treat every person from the tiniest child to the oldest elder with respect at all times.b. Special respect should be given to Elders, Parents, Teachers, and Community Leaders.c. No person should be made to feel "put down" by you; avoid hurting other hearts as you would avoid a deadly poison.d. Touch nothing that belongs to someone else (especially Sacred Objects) without permission, or an understanding between you. e. Respect the privacy of every person, never intrude on a person's quiet moment or personal space.f. Never walk between people that are conversing. g. Never interrupt people who are conversing.h. Speak in a soft voice, especially when you are in the presence of Elders, strangers or others to whom special respect is due.i. Do not speak unless invited to do so at gatherings where Elders are present (except to ask what is expected of you, should you be in doubt). j. Never speak about others in a negative way, whether they are present or not. k. Treat the earth and all of her aspects as your mother. Show deep respect for the mineral world, the plant world, and the animal world. Do nothing to pollute our Mother, rise up with wisdom to defend her. l. Show deep respect for the beliefs and religion of others.m. Listen with courtesy to what others say, even if you feel that what they are saying is worthless. Listen with your heart.n. Respect the wisdom of the people in council. Once you give an idea to a council meeting it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the people. Respect demands that you listen intently to the ideas of others in council and that you do not insist that your idea prevail. Indeed you should freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good, even if those ideas ideas are quite different from the ones you have contributed. The clash of ideas brings forth the Spark of Truth.
Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.
Be truthful at all times, and under all conditions.
Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.
The hurt of one is the hurt of all, the honor of one is the honor of all.
Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.
All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.
To serve others, to be of some use to family, community, nation, and the world is one of the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget your most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.
Observe moderation and balance in all things.
Know those things that lead to your well-being, and those things that lead to your destruction.
Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends.

Greeting to you All!

Just getting started with this.
